Daniel Fox, founder of Skreened.com contacted me last week and asked me if Libby and I were interested in being Skreened’s featured designers, and after he mentioned I was his favorite, I said, “yes!” The process involved waiting for Libby to return from a business trip and my other shirt to arrive and then setting up this shot. Daniel gave me a little direction as far as the photo goes, so I took that and a few ideas I had and made it happen. Most of my gear is and had been packed for my upcoming trip to Baltimore so trying to set this shot up without proper grip equipment was a challenge. I believe I used an old Astros‘ clubhouse sweat rag in the place of a tripod for this shot. I kind of dig the frame though. It shows off our playful nature and humor as well as being nice and fresh and GREEN, just the way the Skreened team likes it.

This week we designed and launched a new series of clothing called the Tattoo-Stitch series. It’s still in the works, but it will feature a series of 5-7 unique designs centering on traditional sailor tattoo icons presented in a different way. The dashed line pattern is used to resemble a cross-stitch. We loved the idea of juxtaposing tuff sailor tattoo design with the lovely pastime of cross-stitch. The image on the left gives you an idea of what we are going for. There will be no Ed Hardy bedazzling going on here, just simple, bold designs on the front and a small “THIS FIGHT” logo on the rear, displayed in a clean tattoo typeface. Also keep an eye out for the next few in the series which are going to be geared towards females. Each design can be ordered on a variety of different shirts and is, as always, unisex.

I started a design shop over at the wonderful Skreened.com. It’s kind of like CafePress, but way amazing. It was started by an awesome dude named Daniel Fox, who emails users (ala me) back within about an hour of sending in a question! That’s service! The site is also very quality oriented, and only prints on American Apparel clothing and the kicker…it’s environmentally safe and ethically sound. No sweatshop labor over there.
