I have been attending and photographing the annual Fun Fun Fun music festival in Austin since 2009. I sadly missed out on their first couple of years as I was not living in Texas at the time, but I got there as soon as I could and have had an absolute blast at each #FFFfest since. I photograph a lot of live music and festivals and I can definitely say its my favorite music festival, hands-down. Where else can I witness reunions like The Promise Ring, Braid, Knapsack and American Football as well as Ginuwine, Nas, and Wu-Tang? Fun Fun Fun Fest just gets me.
This year the expanded nite shows offered even more value to the fest which meant a lot longer hours. I arrived this year on Thursday evening for an amazing show at Mohawk with Creepoid, Nothing and Converge. I ended up skipping nite shows on Friday and Sunday, but the nite show of Small Brown Bike and American Football at The Parish was one for the books. I didn’t take my camera which allowed me to experience it fully. American Football is one of my favorite bands, so experiencing them twice in a matter of hours was amazing to say the least.
This year I focused more on the actual live music vibes rather than the other aspects of the festival or portraits.
A few of my favorites can be seen below with a collage and a full gallery at the end. I also made (& am making) gifs from the festival. Check out a few that I have already produced here: http://toddspothblog.com/gif/
Who I saw/photographed this year: Creepoid, Nothing, Converge, The Dwarves, Slow Magic, Peaches, Rae Sremmurd, Fucked Up, Joey Badass, Archers of Loaf, OFF, American Football, Ride, Grimes, Wu-Tang, Title Fight, Doomtree, Africa Bambara, Chain of Strength, Small Brown Bike
Thanks again to the entire FunFunFunFest / Transmission / Giant Noise team for another amazing year!

BONUS: I was able to save a portion of my Snapchat stories from the weekend for those who aren’t already following me @toddspoth. The quality is poor and the sound is off, but you get the idea!
