I am super excited to be featured in issue 23 of RESPECT magazine which is currently on stands now through October. RESPECT, focusing on hip hop culture, started in 2009 and ever since the inaugural issue I have fallen in love with the photography that is featured in each issue. Back in 2012 I worked with the magazine on a advertisement for LUGZ featuring one of my favorite Houston artists, Doughbeezy. This time they selected an assortment of favorites and previously unreleased images to pair with anecdotal stories from my perspective as a photographer, to feature in their POV section.
Its an honor to have my work featured in the magazine and to showcase not only international & national artists, but artists from my own city of Houston.
Check out how the magazine featured the images (they put Drake and Meek Mill on the same page) and the images themselves below and please let me know what you think!
Big shout out to Paul Wall, Cray Cray, Action Bronson, Willie D, Nas, Drake, Meek Mill, Future, Trae tha Truth, Z-Ro, Slim Thug, Scarface, Boosie and especially the amazing staff at RESPECT for helping make this happen.
Without the trust and access of artists large and small I wouldn’t be able to get the images that really help tell the story, so thank you to all the artists out there that reciprocate the respect that I give everyday.
